To wear the HERO* tag is to let the other survivors in DayZ know that you uphold a certain code of conduct and that you represent a strong sense of greatness that extends beyond yourself. The HERO* tag should instill a sense of relief in survivors and strike fear in bandits. This oath remains the foundation of our organization and provides other survivors a beacon of light during these dark times.
Any survivor caught breaking this oath may be stripped of their HERO* tags and banned from the organization for a duration of no less than 6 months.
The HEROs oath will affirm your commitment to the ideals of being a HERO. All survivors wearing a HERO* tag have sworn this oath.
As a HERO*…
- I will survive the DayZ world in a way that is intended by design and not use methods to gain an unfair advantage such as cheating or exploiting.
- I will work with other HEROs as a member of a squad and perform the duties of my designated role within that squad.
- I will execute missions to provide assistance and training for other survivors as well as provide counter-bandit support.
- I will see every encounter with a survivor through to its natural end and not use fearful tactics such as combat logging or ghosting.
- I will use voice communication during squad missions and encounters with other survivors.
- I will attempt to engage in diplomatic relations with other survivors before showing force.
- I will behave in a manner that upholds the HERO ideals, this includes refraining from harassment of innocent survivors.
- I will encourage and enforce our rules, philosophy, and ideals throughout our community to ensure the HERO name remains untarnished.

- May deputize survivors wearing the GOOD* tag
- Post official HERO* tagged meetups
- Access to our iZurvive DayZ map
GOOD*
- Survivors wearing this tag that have been screened on our Mumble server and appear on our roster are considered part of the Hostile Environment Relief Organization.
- Survivors wearing a GOOD* tag are not the same as HEROs. They have not sworn The HERO’s Oath.
- Survivors wearing a GOOD* tag may wish to become a HERO* by seeking recognition from current HEROs or may just want to let other survivors know that they are not bandits.
