The field manual has been updated, notable updates include:
The most important update for the field manual is under “Threat Assessment” and may be a huge positive boost for HERO squad survival.
The basic ideology of the “Threat Assessment” update can be summed up as “aiming is the same as shooting”. This ideology applies to both HERO squad behavior and encountering other survivors.
We were bandit hunting in Elektro and the server reset. We came back in and made our way down Sniper Hill.
Soon we were caught between 2 parties, a group inside Elektro and a group that shot first from Sniper Hill.
The video ends with me dying, but after all was said and done, we lost one HERO and the bandits lost one person. The other two HEROs patched up in a nearby house and when they came out, the bandits were gone.
When 0.50 alpha was released, we decided to try and find a tent to store our goodies in. We recorded the finding of our first tent.
We were on a very low population server and searching the apartments near Chernogorsk. Little did we know that there was another survivor in the area!
As we have mentioned, Missbehaving and I will be traveling this weekend and will be gone for a week over the Thanksgiving holiday. Missbehaving has diligently been searching for tents on both first and third person characters this past week.
If you guys would like to scout out some campground sites, we can deploy the THREE tents on 3rd person that she found and begin stocking them when we return from our trip.
We can keep the same campsite location also if you all would like. Just let us know when we get back. Also do not post the location here, this information is publicly visible! Mark your suggestions on the iZurvive HERO map.

With our first snow of the year, it looks like our internet connection is going to be really bad while the snow is on the ground. This makes DayZ unplayable, even with our hack workarounds we were using.
I encourage you all to continue grouping up and deputizing folks that you come across. We will be present, and maybe even in Mumble, but probably not in game for a while. I will still facilitate the public finding us through advertising as well as adding new HEROs to our roster as they find us.
Missbehaving says she is able to play during the day time when no one is home just fine though, so look for her during the day.

So we were searching the apartments in Chernogorsk, and after what seemed like forever, we spotted a tent. As soon as we grabbed it, we decided to leave Chernogorsk immediately and begin making our way to a campsite location.
As we were leaving, I spotted someone on top of one of the apartment buildings about 300 meters away. He started shooting at us! Right after we found the tent!
We ducked into the woods and made a long mad dash out of there, knowing our attacker wouldn’t be able to hit us at that range effectively. He also was too far away and too high up in the building to chase us.
After all was said and done, this is the result…
This server is full and we are headed into Chernogorsk for some bandit hunting. We usually do an equipment check and top off our stats so we are all bright green hydrated, energized, and healthy before going into high risk areas.
In this video, we post a Recon on the Chernogorsk side of town and speed loot the town for food. The entire town is looted within a couple of minutes.
During a HERO speed loot run, the squad calls out what they are looking for before entering an area. Communications should be minimal during the speed loot run so the Recon and squad can remain alert to survivor activity.
