    Hi!

I’m Deric, 25 from WV. 382 hours in Standalone, 753 in ArmA3. My first experience with a milsim was watching a youtube clip of some Australian in the very early days of Standalone being a very gentlemanly bandit with a brand new player (I think he said it was his like 3rd life ever). He got the drop on him, told him what to do, even explaining how to raise your arms, and he took only his can opener, and left him with a screwdriver. The whole short video immediately got me hooked on the whole idea of an immersive post apocalyptic world, one where real world knowledge of weapons and small unit tactics would be nearly as important as the social element and implied contract that you gain as part of any society, virtual or otherwise.

I found a group of like minded grunts (there’s one guy that is field artillery and a Canadian Army mechanic but mostly it’s all 11bangbang) and they showed me Vybor and loot cycling and we still play together on a regular basis. Their preferred playstyle is all focused on PvP and while it isn’t in our best interests generally to kill medics and fresh spawns, it has happened. I enjoy this part of the game, which is why we all play ArmA 3 (lots of Breaking Point and Wasteland for the most part). I want something a bit more from DayZ now that I’m considering playing again, something that reminds me of the great medics (and even the ‘gentlemen’ of banditry out there) and the social aspect and risk assessment involved in this kind of playstyle, and you guys seem like just what I’m looking for.

At any rate, my interest is definitively piqued, and regardless of where we end up, it is good to see a place like this exists. Hopefully .60 will give us all a much needed resurgence in new players and new things to do, keep up the good work, gl hf, vaya con Dios, etc.
