I just read this on a very old post on reddit. This should be the essence of being a hero in DayZ!
We have a hero on my server who literally crushes people with kindness, shits crazy. If someone fucks him over he just goes out his way to help them somehow. Someone kills him he congratulates them on their shot. One time someone said they were hunting him but it was too dark, he offered them his NVG’s. He’s such a nice guy he’s ended up converting like 6 people to playing hero and regularly rolling with him. Sure he dies to bandits but the way he handles it means they feel bad about it after. And if a bandit ever kills him seems like half the server wants to know where it happened so they can avenge his death.
I’ve been playing the game over a year and I’ve never come across someone like that in game. He spends all his time fixing up vehicles and helping out fresh spawns however he can, and he’s so genuine and such a good guy that you just can’t bring myself to kill him.
