While several HEROs and GOOD Deputies waited in Nizhnoye to engage in a nonlethal operation, Miss brought up the idea of HERO having a DayZ version of the US’s Miranda Rights. Here is my attempt at putting something together (for the lulz).

You have the right to keep your gun and your gear, so long as your weapon remains lowered.

Should you choose to raise your weapon, it will be considered an act of hostility and you will be met with lethal force.

Should you decide to be violent or give me reason to believe you will become violent, you will be met with lethal force.

If you remain friendly or at least neutral, then you will be offered help in the form of food, water, and/or other supplies.

Knowing and understanding your rights as I have explained them to you, you have no valid reason to claim ignorance should you act in a hostile manner and end up dead.

Obviously trying to recite these “rights” at the beginning of each engagement would be too time-consuming to be practical, but hopefully I hit at the crux of the principles of HERO. Let me know what you think and feel free to correct me where I may be wrong.

I like the idea. I would more than likely add something like this on our website rather than recite in-game.

Kudos to any HERO that is able to recite this in-game without the fecal matter impacting the rapidly spinning cooling device.

I think that captures our attitude towards survivors pretty well. I agree that reciting it would be a little much, but even in bandit hunts or at airfields we stick to those rules.
