HERO Base and Community Property

Base

Equipment, weapons, ammunition, storage containers, in other words, loot!  Most new members that see our base for the first time may feel like a kid in a candy store, but it is important to remember that none of this loot is free in DayZ.  Our base is the result of significant time and energy invested by our members in collecting and maintaining our supplies.  Those members that invest time and energy do so in hopes that this gear will be useful to further our cause for good.

All items contained within the HERO base are considered community property and may be used by any member of the community for HERO related missions.  There are no “claimed” items within the HERO base.  If you are granted membership in our community, you do not need to ask for permission to use items, just take what you need.

We request that members do not take too much ammo at once.  You are not Rambo in this game.  If you die from bandits, you will more than likely die from less than 5 bullets.  There is no need to feed our ammo supply to those bandits.

Vehicles

You are free to utilize vehicles found in our base for HERO related missions.  Please plan enough time in your mission to return the vehicle back to a HERO base.  If your vehicle becomes inoperable, make best efforts to communicate where the vehicle is broken down so that a recovery attempt may be made.

It is recommended to try and locate spare parts around base to store in the vehicle before beginning your journey.  The vehicles require parts to stay running and it takes quite a bit of time and effort to locate these parts, put the vehicle together, and get it to base.  Make sure you plan to keep the vehicle so that the effort is not wasted.

Please do not use the last vehicle in base unless there are at least 2 community members using it.  You may grab the last vehicle in base if you need to pick up another community member to bring them back to base.

Equipment Reassignment

If you show up for any HERO missions, be prepared to work with the other squad members and share equipment on your person if needed.  Our community strives to maintain enough equipment on-hand at base to prevent the need for equipment reassignment, but we want to make sure that our squad positions that are trained to use specific equipment have what they need to help make the mission be a success.

Before high risk missions, a HERO* may designate equipment on your person for use by another squad member to help ensure the success of the mission.  Only HERO* may order an equipment reassignment following the HERO Chain of Command, all other reassignments shall be voluntary.

Personal Property

If you decide to maintain a personal stash, please do not keep it anywhere near the HERO base locations.  Any stashes found within 1 km of the HERO base will likely get relocated and absorbed into the HERO base as community property.

Any items that you find while solo are yours to keep and you may decide if you would like to donate them to the community.  Any items found while in a group of 2 or more community members will be considered community property and should be brought to the base for storage or used on your person.

You may not take items from the HERO base to store elsewhere as personal property, period.  Skimming from the efforts of others for your personal gain is against our philosophy and may result in termination or worse from our community.  You also may not take items from the base to give to non-community members unless you are performing a HERO related mission.
