We will begin stocking uniform parts in the base so that we have extras for missions. The uniform will only be required during mission meetups, but you are welcome to sport it any time!

If you log into the website or Mumble and notice any changes that affect you, DON’T PANIC!
GOOD changes are in the works for our community! And with the recent 0.58 patch as well as the announcement from Brian Hicks about how patches will be rolled out from now on, we should have a much more stable game and can begin restructuring our foundations for a more stable community.
The Hostile Environment Relief Organization is getting revamped and if you have visited the website recently, you may have noticed a few changes. These changes are going to help us build upon our existing foundation for us to grow this community to our previous goal of 25 HEROs.
The changes will be discussed in detail at a community meeting hosted on Mumble. Questions will be answered after each topic for anyone that has questions.
The Most Valuable Player status in the Hostile Environment Relief Organization is selected by the entire community by vote and is awarded to the community member who shines as a “White Knight” to HERO and the entire DayZ community as a whole.
Please take a few minutes to refer to The HEROs Oath and the latest HERO Legends posts when determining your votes. This list of players was taken directly from HERO Legends for the past month.

Exciting stuff going forward for HERO! The vote has passed this week so I will change our advertising from “looking for members” to “need help surviving?” type posts. Other survivors that are looking to join our cause and provide a HERO type service should naturally find us through this advertising.

If you are a HERO responding to help requests, you are running the mission and call the shots, not the person requesting help. I would recommend following the safety recommendations in this Field Manual update.
This community is founded on good people doing great things and we would like to encourage this behavior to continue even when there are not official meetups happening!
For the month of April, we would like to see some heroic deeds being done. These can be missions run with multiple people or solo acts of heroism.
Post the story of your experiences and screenshots in HERO Legends with the proper format and we will take a vote at the end of the month for the most heroic acts! Quality or quantity will be determined by the voters. Going forward we will continue to have monthly votes for an MVP based off of HERO Legends votes.
To kick it off this month, Missbehaving and I have come up with a small pool of $50 for the winners that will be broken up as follows:
1st place – $20 + MVP status
2nd place – $15
3rd place – $10
4th place – $5
I’m looking forward to the great stories that come out of our DayZ experiences!
The field manual has been updated with a new mission template: Combat Training
This mission template will allow us to engage in high risk combat focused training as HERO* tagged players. Please read the caveats listed in the mission template before running these mission types.

A new section has been added to the Field Manual called “Squad Missions“.
The main purpose of this section is to have some template missions that can be run at any given time by members of our organization. It should also familiarize new members of the community and veterans with the goals of a given mission.
