ParticipantI’ve been messing around on the .55 update for a good portion of the day and captured a few notes about the zombies in this update:
– They can survive a single Mosin shot unless it is the head. Close range shotgun blast appears to kill in one shot.
– They are much faster then previous zombies. Strafing around them to axe them isn’t going to work as well. They turn around much more quickly than previously.
– It can take up to 4-5 splitting axe swings to the body to kill them. Single headshot seems to work as well.
– They hit much more quickly and seem to be able get in 2-3 hits at time. The damage isn’t terrible and I didn’t bleed that often.
– Stealth seems to work pretty well. Crouch walking you can get almost right behind them without them being alerted. Running or crouch running within about 15-20 feet with their back turned seem to agro them.
– If they were facing towards you and you were out in the open, they seem to argo probably around 50 feet or so
– I also didn’t notice a larger number of zombies than normal. I ran to the top of the tower in Novo and only saw about 2-3 zombies from all angles. I also ran around Severograd for a while and only ran into one zombie at a time. This could all change when this goes to stable but I just wanted to share my experience. They will definitely not be just a push over anymore once stable hits .55.

KeymasterI am looking forward to it! Also the 800m zombie agro was really annoying and it sounds like that should be gone.

ParticipantThis will place a higher value on silencers too! If it is going to take multiple body shots with silent axes, seems to me that you are better off plunking away with silenced weapons (especially pistols) from a distance.

ParticipantA few more notes to share from the most recent exp push today.
I did find both the bear trap and land mine. I wasn’t able to get the bear trap to hurt a zombie but will try it again. I only managed to hurt myself with it while activating it. The land mine has a neat three second count down timer. I didn’t find a truck to test out what happens if you drive over them. Running over the land mines didn’t appear to have any effect.
I am finding if you allow the zombie to hit you 4-5 times it seems to ruin your hat/upper clothing and all the contents. Will really need to consider what you put in there if you choose to try and take a zombie out.
