Our mission is to provide relief to the hostile environment that is DayZ. DayZ HEROs are carefully selected based on a code of honor and the ability to move and act as a tactical unit. Our mission relief comes in the form of providing medical attention, training new survivors, counter-bandit missions, etc.

Community Rules
The Hostile Environment Relief Organization is a mature gaming community and we expect everyone that participates in our community to behave as such:
- Please encourage GOOD behavior – This is a HERO community after all, encourage others to behave appropriately.
- No racial slurs, bigotry, or bullying – Nothing good ever comes of this kind of hate.
- We are not an exclusive community – You may belong to other communities even with the same games or with different viewpoints on play style. However, you may not recruit or advertise them to our members.
- No advertising or recruiting for other communities – We have spent a lot of time, money, and energy forming a good group of folks. We are not your personal advertising and recruitment platform. Build your own community! This includes inviting others to join another voice communication platform, website, or game that pulls members away from playing here.
- Respect higher ranking members – If a higher ranking member asks you to modify your behavior, chances are that there is a good reason for their request and we do trust them enough for them to hold that position. You can find our rank hierarchy in the Field Manual under HERO Chain of Command.
- Don’t spam the microphone – We understand you get excited about your music or just talking to others because of your lack of social contact. We just don’t want to hear excessive noise, period. Please keep general conversation in “The Wasteland” or “The Courtyard”.
- This is not a comprehensive set of rules – The last thing we want is to have a long list of rules for people to reference and try to bend or break. In general, contribute to this community and don’t detract from it and we will get along just fine.
Do you have what it takes to be a HERO?
- Register for our website. You may create a new account or use Steam to login to our website.
- Join our Discord. When you first join, you will be in a jailed channel called “The Wasteland”. Please be patient and someone will come in and talk to you.
- Do not ask to join. Just play with us. Not everyone will make it into the organization. Out of those that make it in, not everyone will make it to the level of HERO*. We generally do not reach out and ask individual people to join us, you must be willing to make the effort to follow our path.
- Complete our Personality Assessment. This will give us an idea of your play style and how you handle situations. You must complete the assessment as well as a verbal interview before being considered as a new recruit able to wear the GOOD* tag.
- Current HEROs will test survivors before deputizing them into the organization. This process is thorough and will ensure that our community members are quality choices for the hero play style.
- Tell us your story. Having more information about you will help us determine if you are a good fit for our organization and the hero play style in general.
